You know the feeling after Christmas day? The feeling of everything being over way too quickly it doesn’t even feel real. That's what NBA All-Star 2017 was like. We spent months preparing to take over the city of NOLA for a weekend of amazing food, non-stop fun, and most importantly – basketball. NBA All-Star 2017 was a weekend to remember. The skills challenge, the games, and the performances were phenomenal. Each was only surpassed by the hospitality we provided before the weekend's most attended events.

    Lunch with a Legend

Lunch with a Legend is an event I will remember for the rest of my life. Special guest Dell Curry and Dominique Wilkins took the stage with the moderator, Ahmad Rashad for an hour of basketball memories. Both players reminisced over playing each other and big names in the league. They were asked their opinions on the greatest player of all time and both without a doubt agreed on the one and only, Michael Jordan. Hearing their stories reminded the crowd that even though these men are some of the greatest players the world has seen, they’re just regular guys who love sports. We heard from both Dell and Dominique about raising NBA players. This experience was truly remarkable and capped off with an autograph session.

    Pre-game Parties

Before both, the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night and the 66th Annual NBA All-Star game, we hosted a pre-game party complete with NBA Legends at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The food was delicious including candy bars, waffles bar, and wings that were out of this world. You could find a taste of New Orleans with shrimp, gumbo, and much more. The bar was open and the drinks were flowing as the music pumped through the speakers. The practice going on in the arena was televised for guests so they didn’t miss a moment of the action. Kids played “pop a shot” for hours and families flocked to meet our Legends. Muggsy Bouges, Dell Curry, and Dikembe Mutombo popped up for autographs and pictures with our lucky guests. With hospitality just steps away from the entrance of Smoothie King Center, we enjoyed some fun and headed directly in to find our seats.

This weekend was a blast full of surprises! I was delightfully shocked when I ran into John Legend, Questlove, and several other celebrities after the dunk contest. I was even star struck when I saw Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy wandering onto the court for the game. The food in the stadium was tasty and the staff at Smoothie King Center were very accommodating. The game was great and the entertainment in the stadium was quite fun throughout the night. Looking for a recap of the West’s win? Victoria has that covered here.
