The Masters® 2017 Recap

    By Kristen Doolan

Impeccable golf, stiff competition and a victory that came down to the wire is how I would describe the 2017 Masters Tournament. Held this year from April 3 – 9th, Augusta National once again hosted golf’s most anticipated Major. Fans and professional golfers alike lined the course throughout the week to watch miraculously shots, grab a pimento cheese sandwich and take in the beauty that makes Augusta National Golf Club® truly special.

    The Leaderboard

CQ2B0489.jpgMore than ever it seems, The Masters® leaderboard continually rotated, day-by-day and even hole-by-hole. With the early departure of tournament favorite Dustin Johnson, predictors and analysts had to switch their focus and it seemed to land on Charley Hoffman as he came out the gate swinging. With a couple of great practice rounds, and unfortunately a rained-out Par-3 tournament, patrons and golfers looked forward to better weather and getting the tournament rounds underway. Thursday and Friday saw a string of impeccable performances leaving Charley Hoffman, Sergio Garcia, Rickie Fowler and Thomas Pieters tied for the lead going into moving day at The Masters Tournament®. Saturday and Sunday once again brought excitement to Augusta National® as Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose went head-to-head for the coveted Green Jacket and 2017 winners title. After they both hit beautiful shots into the 18th green, fans there and watching abroad knew they were in for a treat. Fate and hard work ultimately handed Sergio Garcia his first ever Major win and Green Jacket after completing the first playoff hole on 18.
