2013 marked the final year for the BCS National Championship. The last time that computers and formulas will determine what teams stand a chance at becoming our next college football champions. And with the end of this system that some loved and frustrated others comes a new era of college football – the College Football Playoff!

This is the first time that a Selection Committee will follow each team’s seasons and watch tape on their performances in order to create an order of rank. It will take time for us all learn and adjust to this system (maybe a little extra time for those CFP skeptics who were fond of the BCS), but overall, the College Football Playoff system ensures the best teams will compete.

For questions on how the College Football Playoff will function, view our Q&A>>>

Like previously mentioned, we have never seen the College Football Playoff pan out, so there really isn’t a way to “see into the future,” if you will, on what will happen in the 2014 college football season.

But to try and help shed some enlightenment on the new College Football Playoff and what could happen this year, take a look at the four teams that we believe would have gone to the College Football Playoff had it began in 2013!
