Dolphins Defeat Raiders, 38-14

Despite a quick score on the opening drive in the beginning of the first NFL International Series game of the season, the Oakland Raiders could not keep up with the offensive plays of the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Dolphins quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, showed dramatic improvement from his last performances and paved the way for a Miami victory, bringing the teams 2014 record to 2-2. Oakland's defense was depeleted and allowed for plenty of short passes providing big gains for the Dolphins offense. Tannehill completed 23 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns, which included a 13-yard TD pass to Mike Wallace and a 18-yard pass to Dion Sims.

NFL On Location NFL International Series NFL Players 3Cortland Finnegan ran a fumble back 50 yards for a TD and Lamar Miller rushed for two more TDs, but Tannehill certainly deserved the game MVP.

The London victory was definitely needed after the Dolphins' two consecutive losses prior and the team is in good spirits heading back to US soil for their bye week.

The Raiders, on the other hand, had issues and injuries all over the field. Their defensive line suffered with inactive linebackers Sio Moore and Nick Roach sidelined, and Kaluka Maiava, who replaced Moore, was injured on the Dolphins first advance. To make matters worse, starting QB Derek Carr was taken down in the third quarter and had to be replaced by red shirt, Matt McGloin!

This marked 10 straight losses for Oakland, including the last several games last season, and the pressure is on for the team to perform after their bye week.
