With the 2018 major calendar now completed, we're already looking forward to the first major of 2019 — The Masters Golf Tournament®.
And as it typically happens, the second the PGA Championship was complete, the betting odds for The Masters® 2019 started to formulate.
The top contender field, per the official betting odds by the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, is full of familiar faces and titans of the game.
Jordan Spieth stands atop his fellow competitors as a 10/1 favorite. While he went winless in major competitions in 2018, Spieth has been a mainstay in Green Jacket discussion over the past few years. The 25-year old won The Masters® in 2015, and finished tied for second in the 2014 and 2016 edition of the tournament.
Brooks Koepka, a shoe-in for PGA Player of the Year, after winning both the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship in 2018, opened up at 14/1.
And then there is Tiger Woods. The most recognizable golfer on the planet proved throughout the 2018 season that it's a question of when, not if, he will claim major championship. No. 15. Woods opened up at 12/1 (tied with Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas) odds after back-to-back inspiring performances in The Open Championship and PGA Championship.
Reigning Masters champion Patrick Reed opened at 30/1. While not playing poorly, Reed has struggled to recapture the magic of his Green Jacket win throughout the rest of the 2018 campaign.
