Congratulations, you’ve scored the golden ticket and you’re Super Bowl XLVIII bound! Going with NFL On Location and QuintEvents means you’ll be plenty busy with, not just the game but, amazing pre-game VIP hospitality (optional post-game hospitality), NFL player and cheerleader meet and greets and attending several optional Super Bowl pre- and post- game parties.
One of the best parts about this historic Super Bowl is that it’s being co-hosted by New York and New Jersey, which means that for the first time ever New York City will be the featured metropolis for NFL fans to explore. So whether you’re a NYC native or this is your first visit to the Big Apple we’ve put together a list of some of the best things to do while you’re in town for Super Bowl XLVIII.
You’d be surprised how many native New Yorkers never do the things that folks coming in for a short visit do. Check out our list of three MUST DO tourist items:
1. Visit the Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty
One of the most famed sites in all of the USA this is a must visit, as families can see if any of their relatives arrived through Ellis Island. Similarly visit the Statue of Liberty where you can get a breath taking view from the crown or pedestal of lady liberty (fees associated with this landmark).
2. Rockefeller Center
This popular attraction features dining, shopping and tons of other attractions including the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and the Rink at Rockefeller Center. This center tends to get very busy during the holidays and will be busy during Super Bowl XLVIII so get there early to enjoy all the amenities.
3. Bus Tour
There are more than a few bus tours in NYC but it’s an excellent way to take in many of the sights of the city, especially if you’re only in town for a short visit.
Eat Something Delicious
NYC is famous for so many reasons, and one of them is it’s wide variety and volume of food choices. Whatever your palette desires, can be found in New York.
1. Michelin restaurants
Some of the best rated restaurants in the world call NYC their home, so if you’re looking for an exquisite meal check out some of these world-classed Michelin restaurants to get your foodie fix.
2. Little Italy
Little Italy is more of an experience than just a great place to eat. With many options for authentic Italian cuisine you can’t go wrong in this area of NYC.
See what all the hype is about for yourself, try a slice of New York pizza at one of the millions (there may actually be more) pizzerias. You can thank us later.
1. Canal Street
This NYC staple is full of street vendors and open-air stores where you can grab everything from a bite to eat to clothing and accessories. Canal Street is famed for its counterfeit items and many visitors go for the experience more than the actual merchandise.
2. Fifth Avenue
Shoppaholics rejoice! In contrast to the cheaper and many times counterfeit items of Canal Street, Fifth Avenue is often ranked as one of the priciest streets for commerce in the world. This famous street features luxury boutiques, department stores and favorites such as Best Buy, the Apple Store and the largest Build-A-Bear Workshop in the world.
Art, History, Culture
We could come up with pages and pages of NYC attractions, landmarks and museums, but instead we selected a few of our favorites and what we consider must-sees while in the city.
1. MOMA, Museum of Natural History, The Met, The Guggenheim
All of these museums are famous for their exhibitions and are frequently featured in movies, magazines and online. With such a wide selection, make some time in your trip to visit at least one.
2. The Bronx Zoo and Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
Referred to as the concrete jungle, tourists may be surprised to see these havens of nature located throughout NYC. The Bronx features the famous Bronx Zoo and head over to Brooklyn to glimpse the sprawling Botanical Gardens.
