The Second Act: The Greatest UFC Rematches

I don’t know about you all, but it feels like just yesterday we were witnessing the epic (UFC® 168) Weidman/Silva, Rousey/Tate, and (UFC® 169) Faber/Barao rematches. And as if to keep us salivating over the thought of even more amazing rematches, fans were treated to Shogun/Henderson part two just two weeks ago at UFC Fight Night 38. 

It got me thinking, what exactly is the recipe for a great rematch? So I created a list, of (in my opinion) the greatest UFC rematches to date, then looked carefully to see what they all had in common. Here’s the secret formula:

A Big Stage + Controversial Finish or Epic Battle = Rematch

So with that criterion in mind we kick-off our list of the Greatest UFC rematches (in chronological order):

1. UFC 49: Belfort vs. Couture 2 
Previous meeting: UFC 46 Belfort via TKO in round one
Second meeting: Couture via TKO in round three
