Ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of year: the weather is cooling down, pumpkin flavored items are everywhere you turn, football season is back, and the 2014 NFL International Series in London is just around the corner! We’re less than two weeks away from the NFL taking center stage at Wembley Stadium for the first installment of the record three regular season games scheduled to be played on international soil.

The excitement that surrounds the NFL in London is incomparable – everyone wants to know if a franchise could blossom overseas! And with six teams making the trip to compete abroad, NFL fans are chomping at the bit to be a part of the international experience.

But when it comes to traveling to London in the fall months, there are some definite do’s and don’t’s when it comes to packing. So before you grab your suitcase, take a look at our list of what you should bring to the 2014 NFL International Series!

Your Guide on What to Pack

Passport

You are traveling internationally, remember. If you forget to bring your passport with you, you’re not going to get very far in the airport and in turn, you might end up missing your flight. Obviously not an ideal situation.

So plan in advance. Put your passport by your car keys, cell phone, wallet or purse, and whatever you do, don’t leave home without it!

Raincoat

Fall in London is known for being its rainy season (and all seasons are rainy so that's saying a lot). Precipitation is going to fall from the sky once, if not the entire time you’re in town. Make sure you bring a raincoat to keep you dry not only during the game, but also while you’re touring the city. The last thing you need to be is soaking wet during the whole trip and then catching a cold. Being sick while traveling is the worst.

While you could always purchase a raincoat in London, we’d recommend bringing one with you. While you’re going to purchase souvenirs while abroad, don't spend your money on items you can buy at home (plus, with the currency exchange, a raincoat in London is much more expensive).

Tip: While you can bring an umbrella sightseeing the city, Wembley Stadium will more than likely not permit them into the stadium on game day. Plus, you don’t want to risk it breaking during your flight.

Camera

Wouldn’t it be awful to make the trip to London and have nothing to document your trip? Whether you have a fantastic camera on your smartphone, a small camera, a GoPro, or even a camcorder, don’t forget it! You’re going to want to have proof of your experience and images to remind yourself of the fantastic memories.

A Small Purse or Bag

Ladies, while big bags are all the rage in the fashion industry nowadays, you’re going to be out-and-about a lot during your trip. If it’s so large that it would aggravate you by being on your shoulder all day, opt for a smaller bag. Small, cross-shoulder bags are recommended by many tourist organizations as a safety precaution - you are a tourist in a large city after all, and an easy target when you're on the street or the tube.

Not to mention, the NFL typically has regulations in place for the size of bag that can be brought into the stadium on game day, so make sure your bag is functional.

Comfortable Footwear

While being in London for the NFL International Series, there’s going to be a lot of being on your feet. And while those heels might be cute and those Sperry’s might go with everything, if they’re not comfy – ditch ‘em!

Whether it’s you jumping to your feet after an exciting play at the game or walking around London seeing the sights, you don’t want to have aching feet halfway through your day. Plan to bring comfy shoes (and maybe some gel inserts).

Last but Certainly Not Least, Your Official Ticket Package!
