Spend a Few Days in June in New York City

The 2015 NBA Draft will take place on June 25, 2015. If nothing else, going to see the NBA Draft take place LIVE is a perfect excuse for a weekend getaway in the Big Apple! Whether you want to spend time primarily in Brooklyn, Times Square or even Manhattan, there are few things better than being in the NYC during the summertime. You can stroll through Central Park, shop in Times Square, enjoy the skyline while eating out on a rooftop bar, and soak in all of the city’s excitement while visiting.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when visiting New York City during the NBA Draft weekend:

  • Use public transportation. Due to its crowded streets and many pedestrians, NYC is not a city you want to drive in. Enjoy the outdoors and walk, or take advantage of public transportation.
  • Check out one of New York City’s best kept secrets: the Lasker Pool in Central Park North. Free concerts are held in the summertime.
  • If you want a free view of the beautiful city, without the headache of tourists and crowded boats, spend the afternoon at Ellis Island.
  • It would not be a trip to New York City in the summertime without a walk in Brooklyn Heights. Take a stroll in the neighborhood and stop to get some delicious treats at the waterfront Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory!
