College Football Premium Package resized 600After making its debut in Texas during January, resulting in Ohio State being named national champions, the College Football Playoff is making its way to Phoenix, Arizona for the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Having recently played host to Super Bowl XLIX, the University of Phoenix Stadium and the city itself are prepared to host crowds of the caliber expected for the 2016 national championship event. Read on to learn about the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship!

The University of Phoenix Stadium: "Unlike Any Other Stadium in America"

As stated on their website, the University of Phoenix Stadium is "unlike any other stadium in America because it's truly a multi-purpose facility." Built to be able to host football, basketball, soccer, consumer shows, motorsports, rodeos, concerts, and corporate events, this stadium can encompass events of all sizes and calibers.

Located in Glendale, Arizona, right outside Phoenix, the stadium holds 63,400 seats (expandable up to 72,200 seats), boasts a "Go Green" mission and took three years to build. The University of Phoenix Stadium is 160,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space and 20,000 square feet of meeting room space. To put into perspective its size, if it was stretched in a straight line, it would be 18 miles long. In fact, the amount of concrete used on the stadium is equavilent to 900 miles of sidewalk.

Its massive size isn't the only thing that makes the University of Phoenix Stadium unique. On each level, there is a mural designed to represent Arizona's environmental attractions and the 400 Level is designed to represent the night sky. Additionally, there are four columns in the main concourse which show hieroglyphics of records and significant moments of the Arizona Cardinals.

To get the fans engaged during events, there are two large "thermometers" at the south end zone to gauge fan noise.
