It’s awards season and we couldn’t be happier to see our favorite stars from movies, television, and music take the red carpet. We’ve already seen the Hollywood Film Awards, the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and up next is the GRAMMYs! The GRAMMYs honor the best in the music business and this year is no disappointment.

This year’s nominees and performers are some of the best the business has ever seen. Adele, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Metallica, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban have all been announced as performers. We’re lucky enough to have another round of performers announced today – The Weekend, Daft Punk, Maren Morris, Alicia Keys, and Anderson .Paak. We can’t wait to see these live performances but we can’t forget about the awards! With so many categories, we’d be here all day so I’m going to highlight the top categories and my picks for winner.

               Up&Up – Coldplay

               Gosh – JamieXX

Upside Down & Inside Out – OK Go

Best New Artist

               Kelsea Ballerini

               The Chainsmokers

               Chance the Rapper

               Maren Morris

               Anderson .Paak

I’m predicting an Adele sweep this year. She returned to the music scene with a new outlook and music that could make anyone weep. Her talent is virtually unmatched. There is no one else quite like her making her music unique and heartfelt. Fans waited for years for “25” to drop and the song “Hello” was everything we didn’t know we needed in our lives. Her success is no surprise and it will take over the GRAMMYs stage with a performance and a whole host of awards.

I know you’re thinking, “what? Beyoncé is queen!” While this may be true, she will play second fiddle to Adele this year. Lemonade was pure genius. Beyoncé is doing something no one has ever done and I respect her talent immensely.  Her video for “Formation” will take home the best music video category with ease. It’s no secret the men nominated this year won’t see awards if Adele or Beyoncé are in their categories.

My country loving heart would love to see a country star win the best new artist category but my admiration for Chance the Rapper wins out here. There is no one in the music game like Chance right now. “Coloring Book” is phenomenal and completely self-produced. Even the former first family loves him. Chance is taking the world by storm and his music is so beautifully orchestrated. He’s an award winner and the GRAMMYs will honor him appropriately.
