Philip Island Circuit: Built for MotoGP

To say that Philip Island Circuit was meant for MotoGP racing is an understatement. It's a self-styled home to Australian motorsports and has a rich history in motor racing traditions with its first car races held there on public roads in the 1920s.

Motorcycles then took over in 1931, and a permanent track was built in 1956. Unfortunately the circuit fell into disrepair during the late 70s and early 80s until it was bought in 1985. The new owners spent AUS $5m to repair the Philip Island Circuit with new designs (including a luxurious MotoGP VIP Village location) and MotoGP returned in the years 1989 and 1990. However, it wasn't until 1997 that the sport returned permanently.

Take a look at these fast facts about Philip Island:

Length: 4.448 km or 2.764 miles
Width: 13 m
Left Corners: 7
Right Corners: 5
Longest Straight: 900 m or 0.559 miles
Constructed: 1956
Modified: 1988

With the ocean as its backdrop and the beautiful Australian scenery all around, Philip Island offers incredible views incomparable to any other circuit on the 2014 calendar.

Not to mention, it's one of the fastest, most fluid tracks, drawing in fans from around the world and instilling in riders the need to conquer its challenges.

Another great feature Philip Island offers, touched on above, is the luxurious MotoGP VIP Village! It offers unparalleled access for fans at the Australian Grand Prix and the opportunity to experience MotoGP racing in a more personal, ultimate fan way not accessible through any other mediums.

What exactly does that mean? Well...

Australia's MotoGP VIP Village: Coveted Access & Amenities

There is live TV coverage of the on-track activities so even if you've stepped in from the Australian elements, you won't miss a minute of the action taking place.

The venue is carved of Australian luxury. There's comfortable seating within the VIP Village making it a fantastic place to relax and meet up with your group throughout the race weekend.

Also included with MotoGP VIP Village access is one parking pass for every four guests, shuttle access from the Car Park, an invite to the Pit Lane Walk, access to the Paddock, and an official programme!
