Ft-Lauderdale-International-Boat-Show-Boats-82.jpgThe clear symbol of luxury and wealth is yacht ownership. Who hasn’t dreamed of sailing the open seas in a mansion-sized boat/ship? Nothing says opulence like a few hundred feet of custom built boat under your feet.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars are a few of those who’ve indulged in the art of yachting. Whether they own these mansions on water or are dishing out the cash to borrow (read: rent) them for a little private getaway, the amenities that these superyachts are equipped with don’t come cheap.

Here are a few of those mega-stars with mega-boats:

Built and designed by Razzardo in Sabaudia, Italy

$323,000,000 | 278’

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are arguably considered one of the biggest power couples in Hollywood. So much so that these two would never make another movie in their lives and they would STLL be recognized for years to come. The couple is believed to have bought the Vajoliroja at $323 million. Yes, you read that correct. This behemoth is estimated to be worth around $323 MILLION. With plans for renovations to fit their own specifications, the super-yacht will be worth significantly more once it’s finished. With six children, privacy is a key concern when purchasing the boat. The couple has plans to install technology to interfere with digital cameras and to stop the paparazzi from taking pictures of the family. I’ve never wanted to be a part of the Brangelina clan more. Word on the street, Johnny Depp now owns the boat.

Designed by Phillipe Starck and built by Feadship in Aalsmeer, Netherlands

$120,000,000 | 260’

Apple founder Steve Jobs never got to board his $120 million ship named Venus, since the tech genius passed away a year before it was completed in 2012. Jobs commissioned the ship in 2008, and enlisted the expertise of designer Phillippe Starck to create his one-of-a-kind sailing paradise. Jobs also hired the chief designer of all his Apple Stores to make structural glass for the yacht. Venus is crafted with strong aluminum and steel, and a row of 27-inch iMacs are used by the ship’s captain to navigate in the wheelhouse (but of course). Venus remains with the Jobs estate and is rarely seen.

Seven Seas

Designed by Nuvolari Lenard Design and built by Oceaneo in Alblasserdam, Netherlands

$200,000,000 | 282’

Acclaimed director Steven Spielberg is the proud owner of the Seven Seas. At 282 feet long, it would soar at an impressive 28 stories high. Want to know what a long-standing career full of successful movies earns you? How about a large master stateroom with a study and private deck, a helipad, indoor cinema, and an infinity pool with a 15-foot glass wall that converts to a movie screen so you can show all your friends your latest film while they swim. The vessel can travel at 20 knots and includes a special stabilizing system in the hull that reduces seasickness, which Spielberg reportedly suffers. Is it too late to go back to film school?

Built and designed by Condecasa in Viareggio, Italy

$60,000,000 | 213’

As one of the finest and most successful fashion houses to ever come out of Italy, Armani, has helped creative genius, Giorgio Armani build his most expensive home away from home. And what a beautiful home it is. His brand is known primarily for its men’s wear and its clean tailored line. Everything about Armani spells luxury, class, and elegance. The same principles hold true for his yacht. Main’s interiors are dressed in his favorite suit shades of grey and beige, set off with light birchwood floors and blinds, and dark-green lacquered wall that match the hull. If there were CFDA Awards for boats, without a doubt, Main would have received one within its first year.

Designed by Stefano Nattuci for Benetti, and built in Viareggio, Italy

$73,000,000 | 182’

It seems Italy has gotten the yachting thing down. It produces some of the most beautifully crafted vessels with unrivaled technology. The top-of-the-line yacht, Altitude has yet to be claimed “officially,” but the most prolific couple in hip-hop, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, often charter this beauty a few times a year. Their last adventure cost them $377,000 for ONE WEEK at sea. Attitude travels at a cruising speed of 14 knots and features a dedicated water sports boat with an outboard motor, two wave runners, a catamaran, one sailing dinghy, a 15-foot water trampoline, fishing equipment and snorkeling equipment. I mean how else you would spend your time when you’re not on a world-wide tour? I’ve never been more jealous of Blue Ivy Carter.
