What to Wear to The Masters® 2018

“April showers bring May flowers,” is how the saying goes and Spring can have some of the most unpredictable weather. It’s important when you’re planning a trip this time of year that you prepare for all kinds of weather conditions; the rain, the heat, the cold, you never know! Below we have put together some items we recommend you bring with you to Augusta for The Masters®.

    Appropriate Outfits for The Masters®

When deciding what to wear to The Masters® choose a presentable yet comfortable golf look. Many say to dress as though you are playing in the tournament by wearing golf polos and khakis and if the weather is warm, you are permitted to wear shorts. Leave the jeans and baggy pants at home. For women, an appropriate length shirt dress or skirt with a polo will suffice. You should avoid wearing short shorts or heels.

    Comfortable is Key

Days at The Masters® tend to be long so dressing comfortably is necessary. A day at a prestigious golf tournament involves a lot of walking, and walking on grass for that matter, so you don’t want to find yourself sinking into the ground with blisters on your feet. If you’re going for a casual look, wearing sandals with backs or sneakers is an appropriate choice, if you’re dressing it up a bit, wedge sandals are a good alternative to heels. For men, wearing sneakers or golf shoes is most appropriate.

In addition to comfortable footwear, make sure that your clothes breathe. Wearing a dry-fit polo can absorb both sweat and rain which will help you adapt to any weather the day may bring.

    Layer Up and Protect Yourself

Dressing in layers can also help you prepare for any kind of weather. Augusta mornings can be quite chilly and as stated before, April showers are a thing so be sure to pack a raincoat and a light jacket, so you have the option to take it off if the weather permits.

Don’t forget to pack sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat or visor to protect yourself from harsh sunlight. Even if the sun doesn’t feel strong, you can never be too safe!
