2017 College Football Playoff Rankings by Week

    Over the next several weeks, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will meet to produce college football rankings for the 2017 season. 

    College football fans have eagerly awaited the release of the College Football Playoff rankings. It's always exciting to see the official Top 25 and get an idea of who we might see in the playoff. We now have the fifth set of rankings, and fans definitely have something to say about it. 

    How does the commmittee determine the rankings? There is no cut and dry answer, but we have gone into detail about the factors the Selection Committee uses for these rankings each week, which you can read about here

    Below are the Week 5 rankings, announced Tuesday, November 28 on ESPN.

    2017 Rankings Scheduled

    Rankings will be issued six times in 2017, beginning Tuesday, October 31. The final rankings will be released on Selection Day, Sunday, December 3.

    • Tuesday, October 31
    • Tuesday, November 7
    • Tuesday, November 14
    • Tuesday, November 21
    • Tuesday, November 28
    • Sunday, December 3 (Selection Day and Playoff Semifinal teams announced)

    Each week, the rankings will be exclusively revealed on ESPN's College Football Playoff: Top 25 show.

    Evan Chronis was born in Omaha, Nebraska but has made his home in south Charlotte for almost two decades. A Tar Heel born and bred, Evan received his B.A in Media and Journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill. He is an avid Boston sports fan thanks to his family’s New England roots, and a fanboy of Wes Anderson films.
